RACHEL HUCH, violin


Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree with Academic Honors from Michigan State University, A Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and is also an alumnus of the Meadowmount School of Music. Her former teachers include Stephen Shipps, Charles Avsharian, David and Linda Cerone.

She has won numerous concerto competitions and has performed as soloist with the Detroit Civic Symphony, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony orchestras. As an orchestra musician, Ms. Huch has performed with the Lansing, Jackson, Battle Creek and Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestras. Ms. Huch has recorded for Vernacular Films, and has also been featured on radio programs thoughout the U.S. Having toured Europe and South America as a classical musician, Ms. Huch has also performed with popular artists including Bobby McFerrin, Barry Manilow, Josh Groban and Kanye West.

In 2006 Ms. Huch joined the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music as a teacher in the Preparatory Division and, is also on faculty at the Solon Center for the Arts. In 2007 she was appointed to the position of Associate Concertmaster with the Ashland Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Huch resides in Cleveland Heights with her husband Ryan and their daughter.
